Spring 2016 Travel Team Try-outs dates are set. Try-outs are mandatory in order for teams to be formed. Players that do not attend a tryout cannot be considered for a spot on the roster.
Players on existing fall teams are automatically on the team for the spring. New players will be added if places on the rosters exist.
CSL has determined the best option for travel team formation is to build teams based on the skill level of the players instead of by age group. Players have the opportunity to try-out for two levels of play: Classic and/or Challenge. Classic try-outs will be held first and then Challenge try-outs.
The Classic level of play is the more competitive of the two levels. Travel will be further and the commitment level is higher. Due to this, we are only interested in players and families that want to make that commitment. If we do not have enough interest, players that register and attend the Classic try-outs will be considered for the Challenge team the following week when try-outs are held for that level of play.
Classic teams will pull players from all parts of the region and therefore practices will be centralized in Pittsboro. Challenge teams can be more regionally based if the numbers are available for more than one team. When considering the level of play, you will need to consider the commitment to travel to Pittsboro for practices.
All Try-Outs will be held at Pittsboro Elementary School. Pre-registration for the try-outs is open and highly recommended. When you pre-register, you will receive a confirmation email with a NCYSA Medical Form attached. Complete the waiver and bring it with you to the try-outs. Each player that attends the try-outs will receive two try-out t-shirts that are to be worn at the try-outs to assist coaches with identifying players. These t-shirts will also be used at practices during the season.

Fees per season for 2015-2016 will be $300 for Academy, $330 for Challenge and $400 for Classic. Challenge and Academy will participate in one tournament per season and Classic teams will go to two tournaments. Payment of a $100 deposit will be required upon acceptance of an offer to join a travel team. Final payments will be due by December 15th. There is no charge for the try-outs and evaluations.
As with all CSL programs, financial aid is available for participants that qualify.
