CHATHAM SOCCER LEAGUE CODE OF CONDUCT
Chatham Soccer League adopted the NCYSA (North Carolina Youth Soccer Association, of which CSL is a member) Code of Conduct, as it appears in the Recreation Handbook. It is important for all CSL players, coaches, and parents to know and understand the code of conduct.

The following, easy to understand points need to be made clear to all. CSL coaches are expected to discuss these points with their team and the team's parents:
- Point One: The coach is responsible for the conduct of their team and the parents and supporters of that team. Parents should assist the coach in maintaining appropriate conduct of spectators during a game. The referee has the authority to require any person to leave the field.
- Point Two: Parents and supporters may not approach game officials. The coach may not approach the officials during the game. After the game is an appropriate time for the coach to approach the referees in a respectful manner.
- Point Three: Neither coaches, parents, players, or supporters may make abusive or offensive comments to the officials or to the players, coaches, parents or supporters of either team.
Violations of these rules will result in disciplinary action that may include temporary or permanent suspension of the offender. Violations by a coach, parent, or family member may result in suspension of the coach, the player, the parent, or the team.
Any player, coach, or parent who feels that an unjust action has been taken or that the Rules and Regulations or the Code of Conduct have been violated should first address their concern to the parties involved. If no resolution can be reached then the appeal must be made in writing to the Discipline and Appeals Committee and mailed to: Discipline and Appeals Committee, Chatham Soccer League, P.O. Box 875, Pittsboro, NC. 27312 or emailed to: complaints@chathamsoccerleague.org. The appeal must include the nature of the dispute and the names and telephone numbers of the parties involved.
Actions taken by the referees during a game are final. No appeal will be heard regarding the action of a referee. Concerns regarding referees should be directed to the referee assignor* at assignor@chathamsoccerleague.org.
*A "referee assignor" is the person in a soccer club responsible for scheduling referees for all home games the soccer club participates in. The referee assignor also has responsibility for supervising the referees who officiate the soccer club's games.
