Recreation Soccer Program Details
Recreation Soccer offers a great, low pressure environment for youth players of any skill / experience level to learn more about soccer, develop their individual technical and tactical skills, and showcase those improvements in their game in weekly Saturday games. No scores or standings are kept in recreational soccer. The emphasis is instead put on each player progressing in their game, and the fun of playing as a team against other local teams.
The recreation soccer seasonal year operates from September 1 to August 31 of each year. The seasonal year is divided into Fall and Spring seasons, and players can compete in one or both seasons. Teams are formed each season with players randomly assigned to coaches. Every attempt is made to place players with coaches in their regional practice area, but this is not always possible. Players remain on the same team for the seasonal year. Players only playing in the Spring are added to teams by the registrar as needed.

Parents' Role
Parents are expected to be positive role models for their players, and each parent has an important role at each game, cheering on all players. As Chatham Soccer League is an all volunteer, non-profit league, we also encourage parents to participate in the program as head coaches, assistant coaches, team managers and league volunteers (field maintenance, volunteering at events, joining the board of directors, etc.) Chatham Soccer League staff and coaches can provide training, instruction and support for any of these volunteer roles. If you feel led to volunteer in any capacity, please reach out to our Director or Recreation Programs, or our Executive Director.
